Ingredients

Pastry and Filling Ingredients

  • 1 package puff pastry (thawed)
  • 2 cups fresh spinach (chopped) Frozen spinach can be substituted
  • 1 cup feta cheese (crumbled) Use high-quality feta for the best flavor
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese (softened) Can replace with ricotta for a creamier filling
  • 1 large egg (beaten for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil (for brushing)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, blend together the chopped spinach, feta cheese, cream cheese, salt, and pepper until everything is fully combined.
  • Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and slice it into strips, about 1 inch wide.
  • Spoon a generous amount of the spinach and feta mixture at one end of each pastry strip.
  • Gently twist each pastry strip and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Brush the tops with the beaten egg to achieve that golden finish.

Baking

  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until they’re beautifully puffed and golden brown.
  • Serve warm with your favorite dip.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) or freeze before baking. Chill pastry if warm before baking for a flakier texture.
