Mushroom Preparation

  • 12 pieces Mushroom caps Choose firm and fresh mushrooms.

Stuffing Mixture

  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs Use regular or gluten-free breadcrumbs.
  • 1/2 cup Cheese (such as cream cheese or Parmesan) Feel free to experiment with different cheeses.
  • 2 tablespoons Herbs (such as parsley, thyme, or basil) Chopped finely.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil Plus extra for drizzling.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Clean the mushroom caps and set aside.
  • In a bowl, mix together breadcrumbs, chopped herbs, cheese, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
  • Drizzle olive oil into the mixture and combine until well blended.
  • Stuff the mixture into each mushroom cap.
  • Place the stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet and drizzle a little more olive oil on top.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden and tender.

Serving

  • Serve the stuffed mushrooms hot, right from the oven.
  • Pair them with a dipping sauce, such as marinara or a garlic aioli, to enhance their flavor.

Notes

If you have leftovers, let the stuffed mushrooms cool completely and store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place them in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes, or until heated through. Choose mushrooms that are firm and fresh for the best flavor and texture. You can create different variations by adding chopped olives, sun-dried tomatoes, or cooked bacon.
