Ingredients
  

For the garlic butter

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Use high-quality European-style butter for richer flavor.
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced Mince finely for even distribution of flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped Or use 1 teaspoon dried parsley.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Unsalted butter allows you to control the saltiness.
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

For the bread

  • 1 loaf French or Italian bread Choose a slightly day-old loaf for better toasting.

For garnish (optional)

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese Use real Parmigiano-Reggiano for best flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Slice the loaf of bread in half lengthwise and place the halves on a baking sheet, cut side up.
  • In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes until well combined.
  • Evenly spread the garlic butter mixture over the cut sides of the bread halves.
  • If using, sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top of the garlic butter.

Baking

  • Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the bread is golden and crispy.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool slightly, then slice into pieces and serve warm.

Notes

Use slightly stale bread for better texture. Store leftover garlic bread in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in a 350°F oven for 8–10 minutes to restore crispness.
