Main Ingredients

  • 4 ounces Smoked salmon Use high-quality smoked salmon for the best flavor.
  • 8 ounces Cream cheese Can substitute with mascarpone or vegan cream cheese.
  • 1 large Cucumber Thinly sliced.
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh dill Chopped, for garnish.
  • 1 tablespoon Capers For garnish.
  • 4 slices Pumpernickel or rye bread Can substitute with any small-sized bread.
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil Drizzle for added flavor.
  • 1 each Lemon wedges For serving.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Slice the pumpernickel or rye bread into small rounds or squares.
  • Spread a layer of cream cheese on each piece of bread.
  • Top with a slice of smoked salmon.
  • Add thinly sliced cucumber on top of the salmon.
  • Garnish with fresh dill and a caper.
  • Drizzle a little olive oil and serve with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

Store components separately in airtight containers and assemble fresh canapés when ready to serve. Best enjoyed within a day for optimal freshness.
