  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream Use high-quality full-fat vanilla for creaminess.
  • ¾ cup whole milk Skim milk will make the shake runnier; half-and-half will make it thicker.
  • ½ teaspoon mint extract Use pure mint extract for the best flavor.
  • 4 drops green food coloring Gives the iconic Shamrock Shake color.
  • Whipped cream For topping.
  • 1 maraschino cherry For garnish.

Preparation

  • Combine ice cream and milk in a blender.
  • Blend on medium-high until smooth for 20–40 seconds.
  • Add mint extract and food coloring, then blend until combined.
  • Taste and adjust flavor as needed.
  • Pour into two glasses, top with whipped cream and a cherry.

Notes

Best served immediately. For storage: refrigerate up to 24 hours or freeze for 2 weeks. Re-blend after thawing to restore creaminess.
