Base Ingredients

  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream Choose high-fat, premium vanilla for best texture.
  • 3/4 cup whole milk Adjust to reduce thickness if needed.
  • 10 drops green food coloring Use gel or concentrated liquid for best results.
  • 1/4 teaspoon mint extract Use pure peppermint or spearmint extract.

Toppings

  • to taste whipped cream For serving.
  • to taste sprinkles For serving.
  • to taste maraschino cherries For serving.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Scoop 2 cups of vanilla ice cream into your blender.
  • Pour in 3/4 cup of whole milk, add 10 drops of green food coloring, and measure 1/4 teaspoon of mint extract over the top.
  • Secure the lid and blend on low until the ingredients begin to combine and you see the green swirl starting to form.

Blending

  • Start blending on the low setting to break up the ice cream, then increase to medium-high for 15–30 seconds.
  • Stop once you have a thick, uniform pale-green shake. Scrape down the sides if needed and pulse again for 5–10 seconds until silky.

Serving

  • Pour the blended shake into chilled glasses immediately.
  • Top with whipped cream, a scattering of sprinkles, and a maraschino cherry on top.
  • Serve immediately with a wide straw or short spoon.

Notes

Chill glasses in the freezer for a colder, slower-melting shake; use premium ice cream for best results. Adjust thickness by adding milk or ice cream as needed.
