Ingredients
  

For the Blue Layer

  • 1 box blue Jell-O (3oz, any flavor) Choose a flavor that contrasts well with the creamy layer.
  • 1 cup boiling water To dissolve the blue Jell-O.
  • 1 cup cold water

For the White Layer

  • 2 packets unflavored gelatin Helps create a stable creamy layer.
  • ½ cup cold water Used to bloom gelatin.
  • 1 cup boiling water To mix with bloomed gelatin.
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14oz/395g) Provides creaminess to the layer.

For the Red Layer

  • 1 box red Jell-O (3oz, any flavor) Select a flavor that harmonizes with the other layers.
  • 1 cup boiling water To dissolve the red Jell-O.
  • 1 cup cold water

For Serving

  • 1 cup whipped cream For topping.
  • as needed red, white, and blue sprinkles For decoration on top.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Place your small cups on a large baking sheet or tray.
  • To prepare the blue layer, dissolve the blue Jell-O in a cup of boiling water, stirring thoroughly. Once dissolved, mix in a cup of cold water, and pour into prepared cups, filling them about a third full.
  • Allow the blue Jell-O mixture to set for about 30 minutes or until semi-firm.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the unflavored gelatin with ½ cup of cold water and let sit until it blooms. Heat 1 cup of boiling water and combine with the bloomed gelatin, stirring until mixed. Add the sweetened condensed milk and stir to combine.
  • Pour the white layer over the set blue Jell-O until the cup is filled halfway. Return to the refrigerator for another 30 minutes.
  • For the red layer, dissolve the red Jell-O in a cup of boiling water. Wait until the white layer is set before adding this layer.
  • Once the white layer is set, carefully pour the red layer on top. Refrigerate until fully set, about 2-4 hours.
  • Once all layers are set, top with whipped cream and sprinkle red, white, and blue decorations.

Notes

Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. For best results, freeze in airtight containers for up to 2 months, thaw in the refrigerator. Use clear plastic cups to enhance the visual appeal.
