Red, White, and Blue Jello Cups

Ingredients
  

Blue Layer

  • 1 box blue jello (3oz box, any flavor) Ensure it's sugar-free for a lighter treat.
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup cold water

White Layer

  • 2 packets unflavored gelatin
  • ½ cup cold water
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14oz/395g) Adds creaminess.

Red Layer

  • 1 box red jello (3oz box, any flavor) Ensure it's sugar-free for a lighter treat.
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 cup whipped cream For topping.
  • as needed tablespoon red, white, and blue sprinkles For garnish.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Place your small cups on a large baking sheet or tray to prevent spills.
  • In a bowl, combine blue jello with 1 cup of boiling water, stirring until completely dissolved. Add 1 cup of cold water and mix well. Pour this layer into the prepared cups, filling them about one-third full. Refrigerate until set (about 2 hours).
  • In another bowl, sprinkle unflavored gelatin over ½ cup of cold water. Allow it to bloom for a few minutes. Add 1 cup of boiling water and stir until dissolved. Mix in the sweetened condensed milk, and pour gently over the blue layer once set. Refrigerate for another hour.
  • Repeat the process with the red jello. Combine red jello with 1 cup of boiling water, stir until dissolved, and add 1 cup of cold water. Once the white layer is firm, pour the red layer on top and refrigerate until fully set (at least 2 hours).
  • Top each cup with whipped cream and sprinkle with red, white, and blue sprinkles.

Notes

These jello cups are best served chilled. Store in the fridge for up to a week. You can prepare them a day or two ahead of your event for convenience.
