Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 package prosciutto
  • 12 oz mozzarella balls You can use traditional mozzarella slices as an alternative.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil Optional for garnish.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  • Open the package of prosciutto and gently separate the slices on a clean surface.
  • Take the mozzarella balls out of their packaging and drain any excess liquid. If they’re large, cutting them in half can make wrapping easier.
  • Place one mozzarella ball in the center of each slice of prosciutto.
  • Carefully wrap prosciutto around each mozzarella ball until fully enclosed.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a small skillet over medium heat.
  • Once heated, add dried oregano, garlic powder, and black pepper. Stir until fragrant (about 30 seconds), then remove from heat.
  • Lightly brush the seasoned olive oil mixture over each wrapped bite.
  • Arrange the bites on the baking sheet, spacing them slightly apart.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until the prosciutto is crispy and slightly golden.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes. If desired, sprinkle with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

For an extra crunchy texture, try baking the bites on a wire rack placed over the baking sheet. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days.
