  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce Can be substituted with pesto or Alfredo.
  • 6-8 slices mozzarella Use pre-sliced or slice yourself; substitution: provolone, cheddar, or gouda.
  • 12-18 slices pepperoni About 2-3 per rose; substitutions: mushrooms, roasted peppers, sausage, or vegan pepperoni.
  • 1 cooking spray or butter To grease the muffin tin.

Optional Garnishes

  • Fresh basil For garnish.
  • Cracked black pepper For garnish.
  • Olive oil For drizzle.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 6-cup muffin tin with cooking spray or softened butter.
  • Unroll the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface. Trim seams so the dough is even.
  • Cut the dough into six long strips, each about 1-2 inches wide.
  • Spread a thin layer of marinara down each strip, leaving a 1/4-inch border.
  • Place cheese slices along each strip so they slightly overlap and arrange pepperoni on top.
  • Starting at one end, roll each strip tightly into a rose and tuck the loose ends.
  • Place each rolled rose into the muffin cup, seam-side down.

Baking

  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the dough is golden brown and cheese is melted.
  • Let cool for 3-5 minutes before removing from the tin. Garnish with basil or olive oil if desired.

Notes

Store cooled roses in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 8-10 minutes.
