For the Sandwich

  • 4 slices Bread Choose a sturdy loaf like sourdough or country white.
  • 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella cheese Low-moisture shredded melts faster.
  • 1/2 cup Pepperoni slices Adds spice and texture contrast.
  • 2 tablespoons Butter Use softened salted butter for spreading.
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil For grilling if needed.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder For flavoring the butter.
  • 2 tablespoons Grated Parmesan cheese Mixed into the flavored butter.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning Added to the flavored butter.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, stir softened butter with garlic powder, grated Parmesan, and Italian seasoning until evenly blended.
  • Spread the seasoned butter on one side of each slice of bread.

Assembling

  • On the unbuttered side of the bread, add a layer of shredded mozzarella followed by pepperoni slices.
  • Place a second slice of bread on top with the buttered side facing up.

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a thin swipe of olive oil or cook dry if pan is nonstick.
  • Place sandwiches butter-side down and cook until golden brown and cheese begins to melt, about 3-4 minutes per side.

Serving

  • Transfer sandwiches to a cutting board and rest for 1 minute before slicing. Serve immediately.
