Ingredients
  

  • 8 medium apples such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp, peeled, cored, and sliced.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 stick 1/2 cup salted butter, melted

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon of flour, cinnamon, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Toss to coat the apples well.
  • Pour in the water and mix everything together.
  • Transfer the apple mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • In another bowl, mix together the 1 cup of flour, oats, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and a pinch of salt.
  • Add in the melted butter and stir until the mixture becomes crumbly.
  • Sprinkle the crumbly topping evenly over the apple filling.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
