Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces chicken breasts Use boneless, skinless breasts of even thickness.
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Use full-fat brick-style for best texture.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella) Shred your own for better melt.
  • 1 cup cooked bacon, chopped Use thick-cut bacon for best texture.
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (optional) Adds tang and creaminess.
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped (for garnish, optional) Adds freshness.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  • Grease a baking dish lightly and arrange the chicken breasts in a single layer. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over each breast.
  • Sprinkle the chopped cooked bacon evenly across the top, followed by the shredded cheese.
  • If using sour cream, spoon small dollops across the top.

Baking

  • Bake for 25–30 minutes until the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C) at its thickest point and the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.

Serving

  • Remove from oven and allow to rest for 5 minutes. Sprinkle chopped green onions on top and serve immediately.

Notes

Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure the chicken is cooked through. Let the baking dish rest after baking to allow juices to redistribute.
