Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Can use low-sodium if desired.
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped

Instructions

Preparation

  • Begin by coating your chicken pieces in cornstarch, ensuring they are fully covered.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Fry the chicken until it's golden brown and cooked through, which should take about 5-7 minutes. Once done, remove it from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, combine honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, and minced garlic. Cook this mixture for 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  • Toss the fried chicken back into the skillet, ensuring each piece is well coated with the savory sauce.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

Consider serving over jasmine rice to soak up the sauce. Good with steamed broccoli or stir-fried vegetables. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
