Ingredients

Pasta

  • 6 ounces Egg Noodles Feel free to swap for gluten-free noodles.

Meat

  • 1 pound Ground Beef Ground turkey can be used for a lighter version.

Sauce Ingredients

  • ¼ cup Butter For creating a roux.
  • ¼ cup Flour For thickening the sauce.
  • 1 cup Beef Broth
  • 1 ¼ cup Milk For creaminess.
  • ½ teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ cup Sour Cream Add for tangy richness.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Bring a pot of water to boil and cook the egg noodles according to package instructions. Once cooked, set aside.
  • While the noodles are cooking, heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon until fully browned, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat and transfer the beef to a plate.

Making the Sauce

  • In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, whisk in the flour, cooking for about 2 minutes to create a roux.
  • Gradually pour in the beef broth, whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Cook until the sauce thickens, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Slowly whisk in the milk, stirring until the sauce thickens once more, about 5-7 minutes. Aim for a smooth, creamy sauce.
  • Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, and salt, ensuring an even distribution of seasonings.

Combine

  • Reduce heat to low and add the cooked egg noodles and browned beef to the skillet. Stir until well combined and heated through.
  • Gently fold in the sour cream, mixing until fully incorporated. Serve hot.

Notes

Garnish with fresh parsley or chives. Pair with vegetables or garlic toast.
