Ingredients
  

For the brownies

  • 1 cup Chocolate chips Use semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips.
  • 1/2 cup Butter Unsalted butter is preferred.
  • 1 cup Sugar Granulated sugar.
  • 2 large Eggs At room temperature.
  • 1 cup Flour All-purpose flour.
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder For leavening.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt To balance sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract For flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon Green food coloring Adjust to desired shade.

For the frosting

  • 8 ounces Cream cheese Full-fat, softened.
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar Adjust for sweetness.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a baking pan.
  • Melt the butter and stir in the sugar until glossy and mostly dissolved.
  • Add eggs one at a time, whisking after each, and then stir in the vanilla and green food coloring.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Fold into the wet mixture until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.

Baking

  • Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.

Frosting

  • Beat cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth.
  • Allow brownies to cool completely before frosting.

Serving

  • Slice the frosted brownies into squares and serve.

Notes

Store frosted brownies in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. For a firmer finish, let them sit for 10 minutes after frosting before slicing.
