Ingredients
  

  • 10 cups cubed crusty bread
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped celery
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped onion
  • 2 1/2 cups turkey or chicken broth
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp fresh sage
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • 2. Sauté celery and onions in butter until tender.
  • 3. Combine bread cubes with sautéed veggies and herbs.
  • 4. Whisk eggs and broth, pour over bread mixture.
  • 5. Transfer to a greased baking dish.
  • 6. Cover and bake 30 minutes, uncover and bake 15–20 mins until golden.

Notes

Use day-old or toasted bread for best texture.
Add cooked bacon, sausage, or nuts for more flavor.
Can be made ahead or frozen before baking.
