Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (85% lean)
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 pieces hamburger buns
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the sliced onions and sauté for about 10-12 minutes, stirring frequently, until they are golden and caramelized.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  • Add in the ground beef and cook until it’s fully browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  • Drain any excess fat, then mix in the Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  • Let the mixture simmer for another 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld perfectly.
  • While the beef is simmering, toast the hamburger buns to your liking.
  • Scoop the beef mixture onto the bottom half of each bun, generously top with shredded Swiss cheese, and cover with the top bun.
  • If desired, garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
