  • 4 cups crunchy cereal (Chex or similar) Choose lightly salted for best results.
  • 1 cup creamy white chocolate chips Use good-quality white chocolate for best melting.
  • 1 cup strawberry cake mix Opt for mixes with real strawberry powder for a cleaner flavor.
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar Sifted for a smoother finish.
  • 1 cup freeze-dried strawberries Optional for garnish and added flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Pour 4 cups of crunchy cereal into a very large mixing bowl.
  • Melt 1 cup of creamy white chocolate chips in the microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring until smooth.
  • Pour the melted white chocolate over the cereal and gently fold until evenly coated.
  • Sprinkle 1 cup of strawberry cake mix over the chocolate-coated cereal and toss gently.
  • Sift or sprinkle 1/2 cup of powdered sugar over the mix and toss again.
  • If using, fold in up to 1 cup of freeze-dried strawberries very gently.
  • Let the puppy chow sit for a few minutes to allow the white chocolate to set.

Serving

  • Serve in a large bowl or package in cellophane bags for gifts.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Avoid adding freeze-dried strawberries before freezing.
