Ingredients

Cocktail Ingredients

  • 2 oz Tequila (I used Jose Cuervo Especial Blue Agave) Use blanco or joven tequila for a clean taste.
  • 1 oz Orange liqueur (I used Cointreau) Cointreau adds a dry, crisp orange profile.
  • ½ oz Dragonfruit simple syrup This is the key ingredient for sweetness and color.
  • ½ oz Fresh lime juice Freshly squeezed is essential for brightness.
  • Sugar for rimming (optional) Enhances the fruitiness.
  • Ice for shaking and serving Use large ice cubes for the serving glass.
  • Lime wedge for garnish Adds aroma and visual appeal.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Fill your cocktail shaker about two-thirds full with ice.
  • Measure the tequila, orange liqueur, dragonfruit syrup, and lime juice into a jigger.
  • If you like a sugared rim, rub a lime wedge around the glass lip and dip it into coarse sugar.

Mixing

  • Add the measured liquids to the ice-filled shaker.
  • Cap the shaker and shake vigorously for about 10–15 seconds until the outside is frosty.
  • Strain the mixture into your prepared glass over fresh ice.

Garnishing

  • Add a lime wedge to the rim or float it on top.
  • Serve immediately while cold and aromatic.

Notes

Make dragonfruit syrup ahead and store it in the refrigerator for up to 7–10 days. Adjust syrup to taste, and consider variations like adding jalapeño or making a frozen version.
