Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Mixing

  • In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream (or mayo), and chicken broth. Stir until smooth, and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Assembly

  • Spread the chicken mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. Prepare the stuffing mix according to the package instructions, using slightly less water than recommended. Spoon the stuffing over the chicken layer.

Baking

  • Drizzle the melted butter across the stuffing. Bake uncovered for about 35–40 minutes, or until the topping is golden and the edges are bubbling.

Serving

  • Let the casserole rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

You can assemble the casserole a day in advance and bake just before serving. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze tightly for up to 2 months.
