  • 2 oz Tequila (100% agave, blanco recommended) Use a quality tequila for the best flavor.
  • 1 oz Fresh lime juice Must be freshly squeezed for optimal flavor.
  • 1 oz Triple sec Cointreau is recommended for a bright finish.
  • to taste Salt for rimming the glass Coarse kosher or Maldon-style sea salt is suggested.
  • 1 Lime wedge for garnish Used for rimming and garnish.
  • as needed Ice Fresh ice for serving.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Run a lime wedge around the rim of your chilled glass to wet it.
  • Dip the wet rim into a shallow plate of coarse salt and rotate to coat evenly.
  • Add fresh ice to the glass so it stays cold while you shake.
  • In a cocktail shaker, measure and pour 2 oz tequila, 1 oz fresh lime juice, and 1 oz triple sec over plenty of ice.
  • Cap the shaker and hold it firmly; shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the shaker is very cold and slightly frosted.
  • Strain the mixture into your prepared salt-rimmed glass filled with fresh ice.
  • Garnish with a lime wedge and serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, use fresh ingredients and precise measurements. Chill all glassware before serving to enhance the experience.
