  • 9 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 1 cup caramel baking bits
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup dried apple chips (roughly chopped) Can substitute with other dried fruits like apricots or cranberries.
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Preparation

  • Place 9 cups of Rice Chex cereal into a large mixing bowl.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the caramel baking bits and unsalted butter together, heating in 30-second intervals and stirring after each until smooth. Stir in the vanilla extract once melted.
  • Pour the caramel mixture over the cereal and gently toss until evenly coated.
  • In another bowl, melt the white chocolate chips and drizzle over the coated cereal, tossing lightly to combine.
  • Combine powdered sugar and ground cinnamon in a resealable bag, add the coated cereal, and shake until covered.
  • Fold in the roughly chopped dried apple chips, tossing gently to distribute.
  • Spread the puppy chow onto a baking sheet in an even layer and let it cool completely before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer freshness, you can store in the fridge and bring back to room temperature before serving.
