Ingredients

Spice Mix

  • 1 ½ teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano or mixed herbs
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Main Ingredients

  • 2-3 medium potatoes Can substitute with sweet potatoes.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Divided.
  • 500 grams lean beef mince Can be substituted with turkey or plant-based protein.
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup cheese Dairy-free or regular.
  • ½ cup pickle slices

Burger Sauce

  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon mustard Dijon or yellow.
  • 1 teaspoon pickle juice From pickle jar.
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, mix together the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano or mixed herbs, salt, and black pepper. Set aside.
  • Wash and cut the potatoes into chips, patting them dry with paper towels. Toss the chips in a large mixing bowl with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and half of the spice mix.

Cooking

  • Spread the potatoes on a baking tray and roast in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) for 30-40 minutes, or in an air fryer for about 20 minutes, until they're golden and crispy.
  • Meanwhile, heat the remaining olive oil in a frying pan over high heat. Add the beef mince, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned, then stir in the remaining spice mix and cook until the meat is fully seasoned and any excess moisture has evaporated.
  • In another bowl, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle juice, garlic powder, and smoked paprika to create your burger sauce. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Assembly

  • Once the potatoes are crispy, divide them among your bowls. Fill the rest of each bowl with shredded lettuce, followed by the cooked beef mince, cheese, and pickles.
  • Drizzle the burger sauce on top and enjoy!

Notes

Feel free to swap out ingredients based on dietary needs. Store leftovers separately in airtight containers. Reheat the beef and potatoes in the oven or air fryer to maintain texture.
