Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and prepare a baking dish.
  • Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel and season both sides with salt and pepper. Arrange the chicken in the baking dish.

Sauce Preparation

  • In a bowl, mix the brown sugar, water, garlic powder, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
  • Pour the sauce over the chicken, ensuring it is well coated.

Cooking

  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
  • Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving, drizzled with the sauce.

Notes

Make sure to pat the chicken dry before seasoning to help the sauce stick better. You can add some fresh garlic for extra flavor if you like garlic! For some heat, consider adding a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce. To store leftovers, place the chicken in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze for up to 2 months.
