Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  • Mix in the vanilla extract and eggs, beating until well incorporated.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring even distribution throughout the dough.
  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between each for spreading.
  • Sprinkle a little sea salt on top before baking.
  • Bake for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown around the edges. Let cool on the baking sheet for a couple of minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

To ensure your cookies stay flavorful and soft, store them in an airtight container at room temperature. You can freeze them for longer storage. Don’t skip the resting time! Letting the dough chill for about 30 minutes in the fridge can enhance the flavor and texture of your cookies.
