  • 4 pieces brioche or potato buns These soft buns hold up well to the juicy ingredients.

  • 2 tablespoons butter For toasting buns.

Preparation

  • Begin by taking your ground beef and dividing it into 8 equal portions, each weighing about 2 ounces (60g).
  • Preheat a skillet over medium heat and cook the bacon strips until crispy, then drain on paper towels.
  • Spread butter on the cut sides of the burger buns and toast them in the skillet until golden.

Cooking

  • Turn the heat to high, drizzle a little oil in the skillet, and place 2-3 meat balls at a time. Smash them down with a spatula to form patties.
  • Season the patties with salt and pepper and cook undisturbed for about 2 minutes until crispy before flipping.
  • Add a slice of cheese to each patty, top with two strips of bacon, and cover to melt the cheese.
  • Assemble the burger by stacking one patty on the bottom bun, adding the second patty with bacon and cheese on top, followed by optional toppings.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Freeze patties for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight before reheating.
