Ingredients

  • cups plain flour
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • teaspoons cinnamon powder
  • cup full-fat milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted (unsalted)
  • 2 medium apples peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1 cup icing sugar
  • 3 tablespoons full-fat milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 tablespoon butter melted (unsalted)

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon to create the dry mixture.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and lemon juice to create the wet mixture.
  • Make a well in the dry mixture and pour in the wet mixture. Add the melted butter and stir until there are no dry streaks. Gently fold in the chopped apples.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Line the basket with parchment paper and spray it with nonstick spray.
  • Scoop 4 leveled ¼ cup portions of batter onto the parchment paper. Air fry at 375°F for 8 minutes, then flip and cook for an additional 3 minutes.
  • For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Then mix in the melted butter.
  • Dip the slightly cooled fritters in the glaze, coating the tops and sides. Let any excess glaze drip off before serving.

Notes

Choose firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for the best flavor. Do not overcrowd the air fryer; cook in batches for even cooking.
