Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 14.3 oz Oreo Cookies (1 standard package, regular stuf) Provides the base flavor.
  • 8 oz full-fat brick cream cheese, softened Gives the truffles a rich, creamy texture.
  • 1 pinch fine sea salt Enhances flavor.
  • 12 oz white candy melts or white chocolate wafers For the coating.
  • 1 tsp coconut oil Helps create a smooth coating.
  • 2 tbsp red and blue sanding sugar or patriotic sprinkles For garnish to add a festive touch.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by placing the entire package of Oreo cookies in a food processor. Pulse until the texture resembles fine sand with no chunks remaining.
  • Add the softened cream cheese and a pinch of salt into the cookie crumbs. Pulse until the mixture forms a cohesive ball that pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
  • Scoop 1 tablespoon portions and roll them into smooth spheres.
  • Place the spheres on parchment paper and refrigerate them for 30-45 minutes.
  • Melt the candy melts with the coconut oil in the microwave. Heat in 30-second bursts, stirring until smooth.
  • Using a fork or dipping tool, lower each truffle into the coating. Tap the fork against the bowl’s edge to remove excess coating.
  • Place the dipped truffle back on the parchment and add your patriotic sprinkles immediately before the coating sets.
  • Return the tray to the fridge for at least 15 minutes until the shells are hard and matte.

Notes

Store your truffles in the fridge for up to a week or freeze them in an airtight container for up to three months. They are fantastic make-ahead treats.
