Description
A healthier twist on fried chicken, this crispy garlic parmesan chicken is easy to make in an air fryer and packed with flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 3 medium)
- 1/2 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup Panko breadcrumbs
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, or to taste
- 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
- Olive oil spray
Instructions
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. If they are thick, slice them in half horizontally.
- In one shallow dish, mix the Parmesan cheese, Panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- In another shallow dish, beat the eggs.
- Dip each chicken breast in the beaten eggs, allowing the extra to drip off. Then coat the chicken in the Parmesan-breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to make sure it sticks well.
- Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (190°C). Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil spray.
- Place the coated chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Avoid crowding the basket. You may need to cook in batches.
- Cook for 8-10 minutes, flip the chicken, and cook for another 8-10 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Once cooked through and golden brown, remove the chicken from the air fryer and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve with a fresh salad, roasted vegetables, or your favorite dipping sauce. To store leftovers, place them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
