Description

A healthier twist on fried chicken, this crispy garlic parmesan chicken is easy to make in an air fryer and packed with flavor.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 3 medium)
  • 1/2 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, or to taste
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • Olive oil spray

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. If they are thick, slice them in half horizontally.
  2. In one shallow dish, mix the Parmesan cheese, Panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. In another shallow dish, beat the eggs.
  4. Dip each chicken breast in the beaten eggs, allowing the extra to drip off. Then coat the chicken in the Parmesan-breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to make sure it sticks well.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (190°C). Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil spray.
  6. Place the coated chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Avoid crowding the basket. You may need to cook in batches.
  7. Cook for 8-10 minutes, flip the chicken, and cook for another 8-10 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  8. Once cooked through and golden brown, remove the chicken from the air fryer and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve with a fresh salad, roasted vegetables, or your favorite dipping sauce. To store leftovers, place them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
